CNC Programming

Introduction to computer numerical control (CNC) of machine tools and other processing machines. Includes an overview of CNC programming with emphasis on the development of tool paths, program code, cutting parameters, program organization and the programming process.  Simulations in addition to hands-on laboratory assignments are often used to facilitate learning.

PLC Programming

Principles and design of automated control systems.  Emphasis is on the use of control systems to increase quality, productivity, and the collection and transformation of data into information.  Application oriented study of the control devices used.  Since the programmable logic controller is the primary control computer used in industry, the application and related exercise focus on the PLC.  The integration of computer controlled systems into work cells is also covered.

Robotics Programming

Introduction to robotic programming of industrial robots.  Includes an overview of robotic systems, robot safety, programming concepts, languages and robot simulation.
